Tipton Ambulance Service

07/30/2026

Last night, our Tipton Ambulance Service team gathered in the Tipton Airport parking lot for our annual ambulance driver training. We’re grateful for an outstanding instructor who helped our team continue sharpening the skills needed to operate safely and confidently.

We were also excited to welcome members from Clarence Ambulance Service to train alongside us. While most people only see us during an emergency, there’s a lot of work happening behind the scenes. We’re always training, learning, and improving so we can provide the safest, highest-quality care possible for our patients, our crews, and our community.

If you or someone you know has a passion for helping others and is interested in joining an amazing team, we’d love to hear from you! Tipton Ambulance Service is always looking for dedicated, compassionate people to serve our community. Reach out to us to learn more about volunteer and employment opportunities.

And yes… a few traffic cones may have made the ultimate sacrifice in the name of training. Thankfully, cones are much easier to replace than ambulances! 🚑🦺😄

🇺🇸 Happy Independence Day from all of us at Tipton Ambulance Service! 🇺🇸

We are excited to see our community out celebrating today—even if Mother Nature sends us a few rain showers along the way!

As you enjoy the holiday, please remember to celebrate safely:
💧 Stay hydrated, especially if you’re spending time outdoors.
🎆 If you’re using fireworks, be sure to follow all local and Iowa state laws, use them responsibly, and keep a safe distance from others.
🚑 Take a few extra moments to look out for your family, friends, and neighbors so everyone can enjoy a safe and memorable Fourth of July.

Thank you for your continued support of Tipton Ambulance Service. We are honored to serve such an incredible community, and we appreciate the trust you place in us every day.

Have a safe, happy, and wonderful Fourth of July! 🇺🇸❤️🤍💙

National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week

This week, we recognize the voices behind the scenes—the calm in the chaos.

Our dispatchers are the ones answering every 911 call for service, serving as the anonymous safety net above us all. In the most critical moments, they gather life-saving information, coordinate resources, and keep help moving—no matter how chaotic things become.

They are the unseen first first-responders—steady, skilled, and essential to a well-run 911 system.

To all of our dispatchers: thank you for your professionalism, your composure, and your unwavering commitment to our community. We couldn’t do what we do without you.

🚑 Expanding Life-Saving Care Beyond Our Community 🚑

At Tipton Ambulance Service, we take a proactive approach to caring for our community—and our neighbors. One of the behind-the-scenes programs we’re especially proud of is our EpiPen in Schools initiative.

A few years ago, we partnered with the Tipton Community School District to place EpiPens throughout their schools, helping ensure rapid response to severe allergic reactions when every second counts.

Today, we’re excited to share that this program has expanded to the West Branch Community School District! 🙌

Through collaboration with area School Resource Officers and local partners, we’ve been able to build the right connections and provide access to life-saving medications—even in areas outside of our primary service district. That means more students, staff, and visitors are protected with an added layer of safety.

This program goes beyond just placing equipment. Tipton EMS provides:
✔️ Medical protocols
✔️ Physician medical direction
✔️ Professional liability coverage

These partnerships and proactive efforts are what help make our communities safer places to live, learn, and grow.

Please join us in celebrating this important expansion and the continued commitment to protecting those we serve—especially our kids. ❤️

A special thanks to the West Branch School District Nurse Traci Fryauf and West Police Department School Resource Officer Sergeant Kathy Sheen for making this possible.

🌟 Investing in Pediatric Safety: A Tool We’ve Trusted for Years 🌟

For years, our service has proudly invested in Handtevy—not just as a convenience for our crews, but as a critical part of how we deliver safe, effective care to children.

Pediatric emergencies can be some of the most stressful calls we respond to. Handtevy gives our providers immediate access to accurate medication dosing, equipment sizing, and treatment guidance—right when it matters most.

This means less guesswork, faster decisions, and a higher level of safety for our youngest patients.

We’re committed to giving our team the tools they need to perform at their best—and to ensuring every patient receives the highest level of care possible. 🚑

We’re excited to finally share that our newly remounted ambulance has officially been returned to service!

A huge thank you to McGrath Sirens Division for the outstanding work—they’ve been great to work with throughout this nearly 6-month process.

We also want to extend our appreciation to Paramount Ambulance Service for generously loaning us their white unmarked unit. Their support helped us continue serving our community without interruption, even during periods of unexpected maintenance.

To our community—thank you for your continued support. We are proud and honored to serve as your ambulance service every day.

❄️ Winter Weather Advisory for Tipton ❄️

Today is shaping up to be a cold, windy, blizzard-like day across our area. Snow and strong winds are creating poor visibility and dangerous road conditions.

If you’re debating whether you should go out today, let us help with that decision — please stay home.

Stay warm. Stay safe. Help us keep everyone safe today. 🚑❄️

🎆 Exciting News for Our Community! 🎆

We’re proud and excited to share that our team, in conjunction with the Tipton Fire Department, successfully applied for and received funding from the State of Iowa to support fireworks safety education in our community!

One of the exciting new educational tools we received through this grant is a large inflatable smokehouse. This hands-on resource will allow us to continue delivering high-quality, interactive safety education—especially for children—focused on fireworks safety and how to safely react if there is smoke in a home.

As part of this grant, we’ll also be providing fireworks safety education during the New Year and throughout next year, helping ensure families have the knowledge they need to celebrate safely.

We’re incredibly grateful for this opportunity and for the continued partnership with the Tipton Fire Department. Please help us celebrate this exciting addition—we can’t wait to see you out in the community and put this new equipment to great use! 🚒🚑🔥

🚑❄️ Winter Weather Safety Reminder ❄️🚑

The first snowfall of the season is expected to begin tomorrow and continue through the weekend. With holiday travel underway, please use extra caution—rural roads can deteriorate quickly with heavy snow and wind.

Please:
• Slow down
• Avoid distracted driving
• Give yourself extra time
• Stay home if you can

If you’re visiting family and aren’t planning to stay all weekend, you may want to consider heading home early before conditions worsen.

We want everyone—including our team members—to stay safe. Your caution helps protect you, your loved ones, and our responders.
