Yesterday, we kicked off our first round of 8th grade industry tours!

Students visited MWL LLC, Patterson Pump Company, Global Partitions, ASI Southeast, and Dotson's Ace Hardware to learn more about the businesses and career opportunities in Stephens County. They also got to see SCHS Work-based Learning students in action and hear how the program is helping them gain real-world experience and work toward their goals.

We’re so thankful to these local businesses for opening their doors and sharing what they do with Stephens County Middle School students. These experiences are a great way to connect classroom learning with real career opportunities in our community!

Day 4 of Manufacturing Week is shining a light on the innovation happening right here in Stephens County. 🏭

Today, we’re spotlighting SKAPS Industries, a manufacturer whose work reaches far beyond the walls of its facility and plays a role in projects and industries across the country and around the world.

From materials that help strengthen and stabilize the ground beneath infrastructure to products designed for environmental protection, transportation, construction, and industrial applications, SKAPS is creating solutions for some of the challenges that come with building, protecting, and maintaining the places we depend on every day.

Manufacturing Week Spotlight, Day 3!

Today, we’re shining a spotlight on Sage Street Aleworks in downtown Toccoa.

Regina and Travis Kruger took a piece of Toccoa’s history, the old Stewarts Drugs building, and gave it a whole new life. They kept some of the building’s original character, including the vintage pharmacy sign and medicine cabinet, while creating a space where people can come together.

From small-batch la**rs and IPAs to seasonal and specialty brews, every batch reflects their commitment to Creativity, Connection, and Community. They also keep things local by collaborating with nearby businesses and incorporating local products.

Join us in celebrating Sage Street Aleworks and the people who continue to make manufacturing a meaningful part of our community!
