Today we launch our

When most people hear the words ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฎ๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ๐˜จ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฏ๐˜ค๐˜บ ๐˜ฎ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ข๐˜จ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฎ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฏ๐˜ต, they think about disasters and emergency response. While response is an important part of the mission, it is only one piece of a much larger effort.

Throughout August, we'll take you behind the scenes to highlight the work emergency managers do every day to reduce risk, strengthen partnerships, support recovery, coordinate resources, and help build resilient communities before disasters occur. This is an opportunity to learn more about the profession, the people who serve in it, and the partnerships that make preparedness possible.

Each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday we'll share a new perspective on emergency management, along with a ๐—ง๐—ผ๐—ฑ๐—ฎ๐˜†'๐˜€ ๐—”๐˜„๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜€ ๐—–๐—ต๐—ฎ๐—น๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ด๐—ฒ that helps connect our work to your community.

Whether you're an emergency manager, first responder, elected official, community partner, volunteer, or resident, resilience is something we build together.

Join us throughout August as we recognize the profession and the people working every day to make Illinois communities stronger, safer, and more prepared.

Follow this series throughout the month, share the posts with others, and help introduce someone to the profession of emergency management. Greater awareness today helps build stronger partnerships tomorrow.
