🐾 Meet Sheddy Krueger! 🐾

This adorable little guy has a silly name and a sillier personality! At just 9 weeks old, Sheddy Krueger came to us as a stray. We think he may have some Schnauzer in his mix, but one thing is certain: he’s a 100% adorable mixed-breed puppy!

A few things to know about Sheddy Krueger:
• He currently weighs 10 lbs.
• His adult size is still a mystery!
• He is up to date on age-appropriate vaccines.
• He is neutered, microchipped, and on preventatives.

His adoption fee is $100, plus the cost of a dog license.

Because Sheddy Krueger is under 5 months old, we will not be accepting pre-adoption holds. However, he will be available for adoption as soon as our doors open at 11 AM today!

We expect Sheddy Krueger to be adopted quickly so hurry down to Lucas County Canine Care & Control for your chance to meet him!

Please be cautious today with your pets and follow the guidance. Contact your veterinarian if your furry friend starts to develop symptoms.

🐾 GMA AIR QUALITY ALERT: PROTECT YOUR PETS! 🐶🐱

As our community responds to concerns about glycidyl methacrylate (GMA), here is some information for pet owners that may help keep their animals safe.

🏠 Help protect your pets:
🐾 Keep pets indoors and windows closed during air quality alerts.
🐾 Limit outdoor time to brief bathroom breaks when shelter-in-place guidance is active.
🐾 Bring outdoor pets inside whenever possible.
🐾 Make sure fresh drinking water is always available.

⚠️ Know the warning signs! Watch for coughing, wheezing, eye irritation, nasal discharge, vomiting, reduced appetite, or unusual weakness.

🐦 Birds and pets with existing respiratory, heart, or eye conditions may be especially sensitive.

❤️ If your pet becomes sick or develops symptoms, contact your veterinarian.

A BIG thank you to the U.S. Coast Guard Marine Safety Unit! 💙

Yesterday, members of the U.S. Coast Guard Marine Safety Unit came out to spend time with our shelter dogs, taking them for walks and creating fun enrichment activities!

Adoptable Liv even enjoyed helping with clean-up duty—especially when it involved taste-testing the treats! 😋

Time outside, extra attention, and mental enrichment make such a difference in the lives of our shelter pups while they wait for their forever homes. We are so grateful for the time, kindness, and care you shared with our dogs!

From all of us at Lucas County Canine Care & Control, thank you for making our dogs’ day a little brighter! ❤️

We appreciate your support! 🇺🇸
