👻🚒 Happy Halloween, Toledo!

Looks like one of our firefighters got a little carried away with the Halloween spirit this year! 😂 We’re not sure how well he can see through that sheet, but at least he remembered his helmet!

We couldn’t resist having a little fun around the station and sharing these pictures with you all!

🎃 Don’t forget to come see us this afternoon at Trick or Treat Main Street! We can’t wait to see all the costumes and familiar faces!

As everyone heads out tonight, please remember to slow down, stay alert, and keep an eye out for trick-or-treaters. Little ones can be hard to see in the dark and don’t always remember to look before crossing. Bring a flashlight, wear something visible, and watch out for one another.

Let’s make sure everyone gets home safely with plenty of candy and happy memories!

Happy Halloween from all of us at Toledo Fire!

🚒🚑🚓 Happy National First Responders Day!

Today we want to give a shoutout to all the firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, law enforcement officers, dispatchers, and everyone else who answers the call when someone needs help.

Whether it’s the middle of the night, during a family dinner, or right in the middle of a busy day, first responders are always ready to drop what they’re doing and show up.

We’re lucky to have a great group of dedicated people here at Toledo Fire, along with so many neighboring agencies we get to work alongside.

To our crew and all the first responders out there, thank you for the time, hard work, and sacrifices you make for our communities. We appreciate you!

Happy National First Responders Day! ❤️

🚌🚒 As School Bus Safety Week comes to a close, we’re highlighting someone who serves our community in more ways than one!

Lieutenant Ayarza not only volunteers his time with the Toledo Fire Department, but also works for our local school bus company, helping keep students safe on their way to and from school.

Whether he’s behind the wheel of a school bus, working under one or serving his community as a firefighter, his dedication to safety doesn’t stop!

As we wrap up the week, we’d like to remind everyone to slow down, stay alert, and always stop for school buses when their red lights are flashing. A few extra seconds of patience can make all the difference.

Thank you to Lieutenant Ayarza and all the bus drivers who help keep our kids safe every day! ❤️

Let's show our neighbors some Toledo support!

10/22/2026

Last night, Toledo Fire was joined by Siletz Valley RFPD , Seal Rock Fire Dist. , and East Lincoln County Fire and Rescue for a joint rural water supply drill led by Engineer Andy Parker.

With a packed house and firefighters from four departments, the evening focused on more than just moving water!

Crews rotated through different assignments, working alongside firefighters from neighboring departments to practice rural water supply operations, communication, and coordination.

The reality of the fire service is that you won’t always be working with the same crew or even the same department. That’s why training together matters. When the call comes in, the ability to work together shouldn’t be something we have to figure out on scene.

At the end of the day, mutual aid isn’t about who wears which patch. It’s about showing up, doing the work, and being ready when our communities need us.

A huge thank you to Engineer Andy Parker for leading the training and to all the firefighters who showed up ready to put in the work!

Good training. Strong partnerships. Better prepared communities.

OCTOBER IS DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness, support survivors, remember those whose lives have been lost, and remind our community that help is available.

Domestic violence affects individuals and families from all walks of life, often happening behind closed doors. It can take many forms, including physical, emotional, verbal, and financial abuse.

At Toledo Fire Department, we believe that everyone deserves to feel safe, especially in their own home.

As first responders, we understand that emergencies aren't always fires or medical calls. Sometimes, the people in our community are facing situations that aren't immediately visible, and a little compassion, understanding, and support can make a difference.

This month, we encourage our community to:

- Recognize the signs of domestic violence.
- Listen without judgment and support those who may be struggling.
- Help break the silence and stigma surrounding abuse.
- Remember that domestic violence is never the victim's fault.

**If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, help is available.**

The National Domestic Violence Hotline offers free, confidential support 24/7.

OCTOBER IS BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH!
You may notice a little more pink around the Toledo Fire Department this month!
Throughout October, our firefighters and support crew will be trading in their usual shirts for pink ones in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
These shirts are more than just a change in uniform. They're a way for our department to show support for those currently battling breast cancer, celebrate the survivors, and honor the lives lost to this disease.
Breast cancer has touched the lives of countless families, including members of our own communities. By wearing pink, we hope to help raise awareness and remind everyone of the importance of early detection, education, and supporting those affected.
To everyone who has faced breast cancer, whether as a patient, survivor, caregiver, or loved one, we stand with you.
This October, we're proud to wear pink for a cause that matters.

Great training last night at Toledo! 🚒🔥

We were joined by our friends from Siletz Valley RFPD for burn box evolutions and forcible entry practice. Crews got valuable live-fire experience in the burn box while sharpening the door-entry skills that matter on real calls.

Thanks to everyone from both departments who came out and put in the work!

Thinking this could be you? We train every Wednesday from 6:30–8:30 PM. Message us and come watch a drill next week …. It’s gonna be a good one!

**THE BURN BAN IS COMING TO AN END!**

Attention, Toledo residents! Backyard burning will be permitted beginning Thursday, October 15!

As we head into fall, the Toledo Fire Department would like to remind everyone that responsible burning is essential to keeping our community safe.

Before you light that pile, remember these important safety guidelines:

- Keep burn piles no larger than 3 ft × 3 ft × 3 ft.
- Maintain at least 10 feet of clearance from structures and other flammable materials.
- Always have a garden hose and shovel nearby and ready to use.
- Never leave your fire unattended.
- Only burn clean yard debris. Lumber, garbage, and other prohibited materials should NEVER be burned.
- All fires must be completely extinguished by sunset.
- Be considerate of your neighbors! Pay attention to wind conditions and where your smoke is traveling.

MPORTANT: Toledo residents are required to obtain a burn permit before burning!

You can find backyard burning information and apply for your permit through the City of Toledo's website:

https://www.cityoftoledo.org/FormCenter/Fire-Department-5/Backyard-Burning-Information-and-Burn-Pe-47

A little planning and preparation can go a long way in preventing outdoor fires from becoming emergencies.

Let's work together to keep Toledo safe this burn season!
