Hypocrite Kaptur - You be the Judge.

Kaptur accuses Derek Merrin of supporting House Bill 6 - a bill favored by First Energy that included a subsidy for nuclear power plants, because his campaign committee received a total of $1,500 in First Energy PAC contributions.

The bipartisan bill included a provision to repeal costly renewable energy mandates on electric companies that were being passed onto residential electric bills - estimated to be adding about $7 per month to NW Ohioans electric bills.

The nuclear subsidy provision added $0.85 cents per month to residential bills. The bill in totality was projected to be a net savings for NW Ohio residents.

In 2021, the corrupt nuclear provision was REPEALED. It no longer exists. Derek Merrin co-sponsored the bill to repeal it. Now, Kaptur wants to trick voters to believe a law that was repealed 5 years ago is causing increases in their electric bill.

Hypocrite Marcy Kaptur has accepted over $50,000 from First Energy PAC, while she voted on many bills impacting First Energy. But, Kaptur wants voters to believe Derek Merrin is corrupt because his campaign committee accepted $1,500 from First Energy PAC.
