☕🚒 A BIG THANK YOU FOR THE COFFEE! 🚑☕

The Tomah Fire Department would like to extend a special thank you to Jeremy Hahn with Edward Jones of Tomah for sponsoring a Free Coffee Day for First Responders!

After a busy week of Fire Prevention Week activities, that extra boost of caffeine was definitely needed and greatly appreciated! ☕🔥

We would also like to thank Brick & Bean of Tomah for partnering with Jeremy to make this thoughtful gesture possible!

🚒🔥 Fire Prevention Week Continues! 🧯🐻🐶

The Tomah Fire Department had another great time celebrating Fire Prevention Week with students from La Grange Elementary School and Lemonweir Elementary School!

Students had the opportunity to learn important fire safety lessons while enjoying special appearances from Smokey Bear 🐻 and Sparky the Fire Pup 🐶! There were plenty of smiles, excitement, and valuable lessons throughout the day!

👏 A BIG SPECIAL THANK YOU to the individuals who took time out of their busy week to help make these activities possible:

🚒 Fire Inspector Bob Walker
🌲 Wisconsin DNR Ranger Megan Mickelson
🚒 Firefighter Chris Semann
🚒 Firefighter Joe Amberg
🚒 Firefighter Steve Beining
🚒 Firefighter Ron Schneider
🚒 Firefighter Danny Amberg

🚑 A special thank you to Tomah Area Ambulance Service for joining us and helping educate our students!

There are a lot of moving parts that go into Fire Prevention Week, from coordinating school visits and fire safety presentations to bringing Smokey Bear and Sparky the Fire Pup to life! None of this would be possible without the dedication of our firefighters, community partners, and volunteers who give their time to make it happen.

Fire Prevention Week is about more than teaching fire safety. It’s about building relationships with our youngest community members and giving them lessons that could one day save a life.

Thank you to both schools for welcoming us and allowing us to spend time with your students!

🔥🚒 Fire Prevention Week continues at the Tomah Fire Department! 🚒🔥

Today we welcomed students from Tomah Area Montessori School, Queen of the Apostles, Miller Elementary, and St. Paul’s to the fire station for a fun and educational fire safety presentation!

Students learned about fire prevention, what to do in an emergency, and how our firefighters and equipment help keep our community safe.

We had some great help throughout the day from the Tomah Area Ambulance Service, the Wisconsin DNR, and Fire Science students from Western Technical College. 🚑🔥

We also had a special guest appearance from Smokey Bear, joined by City Administrator Steve Sarvi, who stopped by to be part of the Fire Prevention Week fun! 🐻🔥

🔥🚒 Fire Prevention Week is underway! 🚒🔥

Today, the Tomah Fire Department kicked off Fire Prevention Week by visiting students at Queen of Apostles School and the Tomah School of Childhood!

Our firefighters had a great time talking with the kids about fire safety, what firefighters do, and simple ways they can help keep themselves and their families safe.

We were also joined by the Wisconsin DNR, who talked with the students about campfire and outdoor fire safety and the importance of preventing wildfires. 🌲🔥

We always enjoy getting out into our schools and connecting with the kids. A big thank you to the students and staff for having us, and to the Wisconsin DNR for joining us today!

We’re looking forward to seeing more of our local students throughout Fire Prevention Week! 🚒🔥

🚒 Supporting Our Brothers & Sisters to the West! 🚒

Tomah Firefighters Fisk and Beining were in Sparta today taking part in the Red Light Rush 5K Run/Walk during Erv’s Sparta Area Fire District’s 5th Annual Block Party!

It’s always great to get out and support our neighboring departments and the events they put on for their communities.

Great job, Fisk and Beining, representing Tomah Fire! 💪🔥

🔥 2027 Tomah Fire Department Fire Prevention Calendar – Sneak Peek! 🚒📅

Our new Fire Prevention Calendars are coming together, and we wanted to give everyone a sneak peek!

A special thank you to our newest sponsors, Ace Hardware and the Tomah Chamber, for stepping up and helping us fill a couple of open spots this year.

We also want to give a huge THANK YOU to all of our returning sponsors. Many of you have supported this calendar since the very beginning, and your continued support means a great deal to the Tomah Fire Department and our firefighters.

The calendars will be arriving soon, and we’ll be working on getting them delivered throughout the community over the next few weeks.

We couldn’t make this project happen year after year without the support of our local businesses and community.

🔥🚒 Here’s a sneak peek at this year’s calendar!

🚒 Our Tomah firefighters recently toured Mathy’s portable asphalt plant to learn more about its operations and become familiar with the site in case of an emergency.

A big thank-you to Wayne Nagy, Safety/Fire Manager, for hosting us and for the great relationship he continues to build with the Tomah Fire Department. We appreciate Mathy’s partnership and commitment to safety! 👨‍🚒

🚨 TRAFFIC ADVISORY – HAPPENING TONIGHT 🚨

Starting at 9:00 PM tonight, Interstate 90 will be CLOSED in both directions between:

➡️ Exit 41 – Hwy 131
➡️ Exit 43 – Hwy 12/16

The closure will allow the power company to safely upgrade poles and power lines that cross the interstate.

⚠️ An alternate route will be in place, and motorists should expect increased traffic along Hwy 131/Superior Avenue and East Clifton Street/Hwy 12/16.

I-90 is expected to reopen by approximately 5:00 AM Tuesday, helping minimize impacts on the morning commute.

Please plan accordingly, allow extra travel time, and drive safely! 🚗

🇺🇸 Honoring the Fallen at Lambeau Field 🇺🇸

Members of the Tomah Fire Department were in Green Bay today to take part in the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at Lambeau Field.

Each step is taken in honor of the 343 firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001, as well as all those whose lives were forever changed that day.

We climb to remember their courage, their service, and their sacrifice.

Never Forget. 🇺🇸

🇺🇸 9/11 Stair Climb Tribute 🇺🇸

Today, Firefighters Justin Dettinger and Fisk joined Officer Nething and Lt. Perkins of the Tomah Police Department for a 9/11 tribute stair climb in our training tower.

Together, they climbed 110 stories up—representing the 110 stories of the World Trade Center—and then took on another challenge by completing 110 stories back down.

This climb was done in honor and remembrance of the firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMS personnel, and civilians who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.

220 stories. One purpose: Never Forget. 🇺🇸
