ELLWOOD STORM RESPONSE

On Thursday, September 3rd the Ellwood Fire District and surrounding Town of Tonawanda was impacted by a thunderstorm and major flooding event. From approximately 8pm until 11:30pm your Ellwood Firefighters responded to 29 calls for service within the Ellwood Fire District.

Due to the high call volume, a central district command was established at the Firehouse where specific call assignments were given to each crew. Our firefighters did a great job handling calls and assisting residents.

A big Thank you to Brighton Volunteer Fire Co #5 for assisting with a Mutual-Aid Engine crew for the duration of the event. We were also assisted by Town of Tonawanda Police Department Public Safety Dispatchers and Emergency Service Coordinators who did a fantastic job all night!
