⛳️Darrell Bell Memorial Golf Tournament 2026 🚒

We are days away from the first annual Darrell Bell Memorial Golf Tournament however, we are still looking for a lunch sponsor. Please reach out if you are able to help out in any way!

Earlier this year, the Toney Volunteer Fire & Rescue family lost one of our own, Darrell Bell. Darrell’s service, friendship, and dedication to our department and community left an impact that will not be forgotten.
This October, we invite our friends, families, local businesses, fellow first responders, and community members to join us for the Darrell Bell Memorial Golf Tournament, a day dedicated to remembering Darrell, celebrating his life, and continuing the spirit of service he represented.

⏰ 8:00 AM Tee Time
📍 The Highlands Course at Hampton Cove – Huntsville, AL
🏌️ 4-Person Scramble
• $125 per player
• $500 per team
• Mulligans / Power Drives available
• Putting Contest
• Raffle prizes throughout the tournament
We are also looking for businesses and individuals who would like to sponsor the tournament. Sponsorship opportunities are available at several levels, including Gold, Silver, Bronze, Hole, Hole-in-One, Long Drive, and Lunch sponsorships.
All proceeds from the tournament will benefit Toney Volunteer Fire & Rescue, helping us continue serving and protecting the Toney community.
Whether you played alongside Darrell, served with him, knew him personally, or simply want to support your local volunteer firefighters, we would be honored to have you join us.

🚒Structure Fire🚒
At approximately 13:00 hours, Toney was called to action as 4th due to assist Hazel Green on a reported structure fire with flames and smoke showing at the block of 100 Tobin Ln. First arriving units from Hazel Green confirmed a fully involved structure fire that had started to threaten the neighboring house. Toney had the privilege to work along side neighboring departments.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of former Fire Chief Curtis Chereek.

Chief Chereek faithfully served as Fire Chief of Toney Volunteer Fire & Rescue from 1989 to 1993. His leadership and dedicated service left a lasting impact on our department and community.

25 YEARS AGO, A DAY THAT CHANGE OUR NATION
Today, we ask you stop and take a moment to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honor the courage and sacrifice of the first responders who ran toward danger to help others.

Approximately 3000 innocent victims lost their life that day. Roughly 500 brave first responders and bystanders who ran towards the danger not away didn't come home for dinner that night.

We remember the firefighters, police officers, EMS, and bystanders that ran towards the danger not away.
We remember the families that were lost during this tragic event.
We remember the sacrifice from all the brave individuals.

Never forgotten. Never erased. Always remembered.

Toney VFD Membership Night with the Rocket City Trash Pandas! ⚾️🚒

While some of our members weren’t able to attend, we had a great time enjoying an evening of baseball together at Toyota Field!
