My team and I enjoyed the opportunity to expand our unclaimed property partnerships with cities and townships at the Kansas League of Municipalities annual conference. Municipal leaders from across the state enjoyed reviewing lists of the top individuals and businesses with missing money in their communities.

Thank you to KCTV5 News Kansas City for highlighting tomorrow’s Women & Money Conference.

Money is a tool. Used well, it can create opportunities and give us greater independence over our future.

This conference is about giving women practical information they can use at every stage of life, from building a budget to preparing for retirement.

I’m looking forward to welcoming hundreds of women to Lawrence tomorrow for another great Women & Money Conference.

Today was a reminder of what public service is supposed to be about.

I was grateful for the chance to work alongside the incredible employees at and to see firsthand the pride they take in their work. Just as meaningful was watching our staff sit down with families, answer questions, and help open new Kansas ABLE accounts.

At its core, the work of the Treasurer’s Office is about helping people. Sometimes that means managing billions of dollars responsibly. Sometimes it means sitting across the table from a family and helping them take a step toward greater financial independence.

Thank you to The Golden Scoop for hosting us and helping us connect with Kansans.

Today, I was honored to have been unanimously elected to serve as the next Secretary-Treasurer of the National Association of State Treasurers (NAST).

NAST brings together elected and appointed state treasurers and finance officials from across the country as the nation’s leading bipartisan voice for sound public finance. Its members collectively oversee more than $4 trillion in public funds and work across party lines to share ideas, strengthen financial practices and serve the people of their states.

I’m grateful for the confidence of my fellow treasurers and look forward to representing Kansas while working with colleagues from across the country in this new role.

Women face unique financial challenges, and good information can make a real difference.

I’m proud our office is bringing the Women and Money Conference to Lawrence on October 8, with conversations focused on saving, investing and preparing for the future.

Thanks to The University Daily Kansan for helping spread the word.

The Kansas State Treasurer's Office will sponsor a 'Women and Money: Unlocking Your Financial Future' event at the David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium on Oct. 8. This event will feature New York Times bestseller, Rachel Cruze, as the guest speaker.

My staff and I always enjoy coming to the Kansas State Fair and helping Kansans find their missing money or answering questions about Quest529, our education savings plan.

If you’re at the fair this weekend, stop by our booth and say hello. We’d be glad to see you.
