ππ§― Learning Fire Safety Through Hands-On Experience! β€οΈπ
Toronto Jr./Sr. High School's Hospitality Management/Culinary Arts students recently learned valuable lessons about kitchen fire prevention and safety thanks to a special visit from the Toronto Fire Department!
π₯ Fire Chief Ryan Boyd and Fire Prevention Inspector Mary Bender taught students about common kitchen fire hazards, the elements needed for a fire to burn, and how to respond safely in an emergency.
Students also learned the PASS method for operating a fire extinguisher before heading outdoors for a hands-on demonstration where they had the opportunity to practice their new skills!
The presentation also introduced students to the Toronto Junior Firefighters Program, which offers young people ages 14 and older opportunities to explore careers in emergency services.
π A special thank-you to Chief Boyd, Inspector Bender, and the Toronto Fire Department for sharing their knowledge and providing our Red Knights with an unforgettable learning experience!
