Much calmer conditions today, should get up to around 70°. Rain moves in overnight setting up a drippy and cool Saturday. Tomorrow may top out around 50° if we’re lucky. Sunday is looking to be a pleasant day with temps in the mid 50’s and sunshine.

East winds are ripping today. Ash resuspension event in full swing. Currently winds are blowing this ash to the northwest. Right over the backcountry. We are in a little hole where the winds come down from the back of Coldwater valley, so air quality so far is unaffected. Winds should die down overnight into tomorrow, so if heading out on the trail today, be aware and pack a face covering. Most of this is lifted high enough to not be an issue, but it’s better to be prepared!

Down to 33° this morning with some light frost. Otherwise a bluebird day with the mountain sporting a fresh coat.

Cold front moved through, things feel much more seasonally appropriate… but red sky at night, hikers delight… clouds and showers around Saturday, but Sunday… Sunday looks like a banner hiking day. Clouds clear, temps stay in the low 50’s down low to mid 40’s in the high country, and minimal snow (if any, doesn’t appear to be much on the ground)….
