The Bradford County Historical Society announces that two new historical markers will be dedicated on September 29, 2026, as a part of the Bradford County Historical Marker Program. The public is invited to attend the dedications beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the Monroeton Dandy where a marker remembering the Barclay Railroad and the Susquehanna & New York Railroad has been installed along a pedestrian sidewalk near the site where the railroad tracks still today cross Route 220 and James Monroe Avenue.

The second marker honors the Patterson Screen Company, the forerunner of the Sylvania (now GTP) and DuPont plants in North Towanda. Patterson Screen Company made important advancements in x-ray screens and other important products. This marker is installed next to the pedestrian sidewalk near the North Towanda red light, mid-way between GTP and DuPont. The Patterson marker will be dedicated at approximately 11:30 a.m.

The Bradford County Historical Marker Program is made possible by the Bradford County Commissioners and managed by the Bradford County Historical Society.

The Bradford County Veteran's Affairs Office will be closed WEDNESDAY, September 16th - FRIDAY, September 18th, as they are undergoing a pavement project on the parking lot.
