Some tips from our friends at Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) regarding the forecasted weather for this weekend.

The US National Weather Service Boston MA is forecasting a Nor’easter that will impact Massachusetts this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with the most significant impacts on Cape Cod and the Islands.

Tips for preparing ahead of the storm:

• Monitor conditions closely and ensure that Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEAs) are enabled on your cell phone. If your community has a reverse 911 system, you should sign up to receive local warnings. ✔️

• Make sure your home emergency kit is stocked with supplies that could help in the event of a power outage, including a flashlight and extra batteries. ✔️

Additional tips on what to do in the event of a flood or power outage can be found at mass.gov/MEMA
