📞 When reaching out for help, getting connected to the right resources matters. That’s why we’re excited to introduce Automated Non-Emergency Triage in our Communications Center.

Automated Non-Emergency Triage, developed by Prepared, streamlines non-emergency calls, allowing dispatchers to prioritize urgent emergencies when every second counts. Callers who contact our non-emergency line at (209) 831-6550 will be guided through a series of questions to better understand their needs and connect them with the appropriate resources. This technology is another step in our commitment to providing our community with efficient, responsive service while ensuring community members are connected to the resources they need the most.

🚶 October is National Pedestrian Safety Month! 🚶‍➡️

Whether you're behind the wheel or walking through the neighborhood, a little extra caution can make a big difference.

Drivers, here’s how you can help keep pedestrians safe:
🚘 Follow the speed limit, especially in areas with heavy foot traffic, around schools, and in neighborhoods where children are present.
🚘 Slow down at intersections. Be prepared to stop for people crossing or walking at marked and unmarked crosswalks.
🚘 Use extra caution when driving at night or when driving conditions are less than optimal, such as rain or fog.
🚘 Avoid distractions such as using a mobile device, deep conversations with passengers, or eating while driving. Keep your focus on the road.
🚘 Drive sober.

Join us at the Tracy PD for National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, a safe, FREE, and anonymous way to dispose of unused or expired medications.

📍 Location: 1000 Civic Center Drive, Tracy, CA 95376
🕙 Time: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

What you can bring:
✅ Loose pills in a plastic bag, blister packs, or medications in their original prescription bottles (be sure to remove any personal info!)
✅ Va**ng devices & cartridges with lithium batteries removed
✅ Pet medications

💙 Help keep Tracy safe! Clear out old and unwanted medications and dispose of them safely. Together, we can help prevent misuse and protect our community.

Whether you’re already involved in Neighborhood Watch or you’re looking to get more involved in your neighborhood, have questions, or want to learn ways to help keep our community safe, we’d love to have you join us!

If you experienced an attempted jewelry exchange or swap, or know someone who was, in the Tracy Hills neighborhood on October 4, 2026, you may have information that could help our investigators connect the pieces of this case. Tracy PD brought the energy to Modesto this weekend for the 2026 Peace Officer Memorial Run! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Captain Mejia, Lieutenant Kootstra, Chaplain Higgins, Officer Velazquez, and Administrative Assistant Zepeda joined fellow law enforcement professionals, families, and community members for a morning of miles, memories, and connection.

We’re proud of our Tracy PD team for coming together to remember the peace officers who made the ultimate sacrifice and to celebrate the spirit of service that continues to unite our law enforcement community. 💙

The Tracy Police Department is hosting four community educational workshops to discuss Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) cameras, how Tracy PD uses the technology, and the role it plays in solving crime and keeping our community safe.

📍 Four locations. One conversation.
📅 October 21st — Kimball High School (3200 Jaguar Run)
📅 October 22nd — Williams Middle School (1600 Tennis Lane)
📅 November 9th — Wanda Hirsch Elementary School (1280 Dove Drive)
📅 November 12th — North Elementary School (2875 Holly Drive)

🕖 All workshops: 7:00 to 8:30 PM
