Here is how YOU can HELP US FEED YOUR LOCAL NEIGHBOR IN NEED when shopping at Meijer this week (west side of Traverse City location only!) by purchasing a $10 SIMPLY GIVE CARD located at the checkout lanes.

You may donate any amount on this card in increments of $10 ONLY. The cards will be given to us to purchase food for our food programs which feed 30,000 local people in need annually!

Please help us feed the hundreds of families coming through our doors weekly who have no money for food after trying to keep a roof over their heads. Food insecurity in our community is at an all time high, and we need your help! Thank you and God Bless!

Thank you Cartman On The Radio Rock105 for the interview this morning to promote our upcoming Teen Angel Kettle Battle during the Michigan v. Michigan State Football Game on Saturday, November 7th outside The Pub in downtown Traverse City, time TBD (during the game)!

Thank you to our matching sponsors: Bill and Debbie Marsh, Jr. and Sharon Koenig, for a total of $2,000;$1,000 matching funds for each kettle! All proceeds are used to sponsor local teens in need, so they may have something special under their Christmas tree this season! Last year with the help of sponsors and donors, we provided 182 local teens in need with having a joyful and wonderful Christmas with gifts under their tree!

If you would like to sponsor a teen for $150 this Christmas, please contact Sue Brown, [email protected] or 231-649-2752.

VOLUNTEER BELL RINGERS NEEDED FOR 14 RED KETTLE LOCATIONS AROUND TRAVERSE CITY!!!

Our annual Red Kettle Campaign is MUCH MORE than reaching our campaign goal for the season. It is about being able to support our local neighbor in need when they are facing a crisis in their life:

*No money left to afford food to feed their family of six
*No extra money to repair the only family vehicle so parents can get to work to pay the rent and utilities to provide shelter for their children
*A medical emergency happens and parents are out of work with no pay and a family gets behind on utilities and facing shutoffs with no heat or electric
*Life saving prescription costs went up and now can not afford them
*A stove or refrigerator died and need to find a replacement to help care for their families, but they are behind on their bills because of job loss
*Family of five uses our free food market, free community lunch, and food pantry, because after working multiple jobs, they still have no money for food after paying rent, utilities, gas

Since 1894 (132 years strong!), these are the people who have walked through our doors needing a hand up while they deal with a crisis in their life and sometimes the darkest days of their lives.

WE RING THE BELL FOR THEM! TO HELP OUR LOCAL NEIGHBOR IN NEED BECAUSE COMPASSION IS PART OF THE ROOT OF OUR HUMANITY.

Please join us in Ringing for a Cause! It is FUN AND REWARDING and most of all it makes a positive impact in the lives of 30,000+ local people in need! Sign up with this link: https://volunteer.central.salvationarmyusa.org/organization/jiYVUXqMlV/Traverse
And create an account as GOLDEN is the Salvation Army's new Volunteer Platform, and then in the search box put 49686 and our Bell Ringing Kettle locations will pop up so you may choose which store you would like to ring at and shift. If you have any problems, please contact Susie Afton, 231-946-4644, [email protected].
