Introducing CSA: More Than a School, a new series highlighting the differentiators, people, programs, and relationships that make our community special.

We’re starting with our PreK3 program, where learning begins with something even more important: trust.

At just three years old, students are building confidence, independence, and a sense of belonging. Our teachers take the time to know each child, build strong relationships with families, and create a classroom where students feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.

Read our first story to see how those early connections help shape the foundation for everything that comes next at CSA.

Listen as BJ reflects on what he learned through our Perfect City partnership with Princeton University University and how the experience challenged him to think more deeply about issues impacting his community.

Through research, discussion, and collaboration, CSA students explored issues that matter to them and to the greater Trenton community while considering how young people can advocate for change. BJ’s reflection offers a glimpse into how our students are growing as researchers, advocates, and engaged community members who understand the power of using their voices on issues that matter close to home.

Our annual Heritage Dinner brought the cultures of our community together for a beautiful evening filled with incredible family dishes, student performances celebrating Latino music, artwork inspired by diverse Latinx artists, and a student led tabling experience.

We were grateful to welcome Lambda Theta Alpha, Lambda Theta Phi, LALDEF, Casa Cultura, and other community organizations committed to supporting Latino families and communities. A heartfelt thank you to our families for sharing their incredible dishes and traditions, and to Ms. Page, the committee, and all of the staff who helped make this special evening possible.

Through our Perfect City partnership with Princeton University, CSA student leaders work alongside Princeton students and athletes to explore civic engagement, community power, self determination, advocacy, and the role young people can play in shaping the future of their neighborhoods.

Last year, students connected their passions and interests to issues impacting their communities, honoring their lived experiences through research, storytelling, and speeches presented in a mock City Hall experience.

This year, we look forward to building on that work by connecting students with more civic leaders and community based organizations while deepening their understanding of collective advocacy, civic voice, and the power of communities to create change.
