๐Ÿ’œ OCTOBER IS DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH ๐Ÿ’œ

Gibson County Recovery Court stands with survivors of domestic violence and recognizes the importance of raising awareness, breaking the silence, and supporting those affected by abuse.

Domestic violence can impact individuals and families from all walks of life. Abuse is not always physical, and no one should ever have to live in fear, feel controlled, or believe they are alone in their struggles.

As a Recovery Court, we understand that healing, accountability, and breaking unhealthy cycles are important steps toward building healthier lives and stronger families. We believe in the power of support, education, and access to resources to help individuals move toward a safer and brighter future.

๐Ÿ’œ This month, we encourage our community to:

Speak up: Help break the silence surrounding domestic violence.
Educate yourself: Learn to recognize the signs of abuse.
Support survivors: Listen without judgment and offer compassion.
Spread awareness: Remind others that abuse is never acceptable and help is available.
Promote healthy relationships: Encourage respect, safety, accountability, and kindness.

To anyone experiencing domestic violence: You are not alone. You deserve safety, respect, and a life free from abuse. There is hope, and help is available.

Together, we can build a stronger, safer, and more compassionate Gibson County. ๐Ÿ’œ

๐Ÿ“ž Need help? The National Domestic Violence Hotline is available 24/7 at 1-800-799-SAFE (7233). You can also text START to 88788. If you are in immediate danger, call 911.

๐Ÿ’œ Gibson County Recovery Court โ€” Supporting recovery, encouraging accountability, and strengthening our community.

๐Ÿ’œ September is National Recovery Month.

Recovery is about more than overcoming addiction. Itโ€™s about rebuilding lives, restoring families, finding purpose, and realizing that your past does not have to determine your future.

Today, Iโ€™m proud of the work being done through our Gibson County Recovery Court and especially proud of the men and women who show up, do the hard work, and keep moving forwardโ€”one decision and one day at a time.

Recovery isnโ€™t always a straight road. There are hard days, setbacks, victories, and milestones along the way. But recovery is possible, and every step forward matters.

This month, we celebrate those in recovery, encourage those still struggling, remember those we have lost, and thank the families, counselors, treatment providers, law enforcement officers, court staff, and others who walk alongside people on this journey.

There is hope. There is help. And there is life after addiction.

๐Ÿ’œ International Overdose Awareness Day โ€” August 31 ๐Ÿ’œ
Today, Gibson County Recovery Court joins communities around the world in remembering the lives lost to overdose and standing beside those whose lives have been impacted by substance use.
Every number represents a person. Every loss leaves behind family, friends, and a community that grieves.
Today we remember those we have lost.
We support those who are still struggling.
We celebrate those in recovery.
And we remind anyone who is hurting that help, hope, and recovery are possible.
๐Ÿ’œ You are not alone. Your life matters. Your story isnโ€™t over.
Letโ€™s come together to reduce stigma, raise awareness, support recovery, and work toward a future where fewer families have to experience the pain of losing a loved one to overdose.
Remember. Support. Educate. Advocate.
