For 276 years, the Trenton Free Public Library has connected generations of residents to books, resources and community. Today, the City of Trenton and the Library celebrated the completion of more than $830,000 in accessibility improvements at New Jersey's oldest library.
Mayor Gusciora and Senator Shirley Turner joined the ribbon-cutting ceremony and shared remarks on the importance of making the Library's resources and services accessible to every Trenton resident. Members of Trenton City Council also attended, celebrating a project they helped make possible through their authorization.
Funded through the City's Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, the project includes a redesigned entrance ramp, new stairs, upgraded accessibility features and improved entrance doors, providing safer and easier access to the Library.
Thank you to Trenton City Council for supporting this investment, the Trenton Free Public Library and everyone who helped bring these improvements to our community.
