Heads up Folks!

09/21/2026 Fannin County is still under a Burn Ban and will be until we get enough rain to bring us out of the drought/fire conditions we are in. Just because it rained last night doesn’t lift the Burn Ban. We are going to be under a Burn Ban for a while, please No Outdoor Burning!!!

Heads up folks. No the sky is not falling. Thankfully it looks like we are about to get some much needed rain. The storm approaching us was severe warned but that was allowed to expire. Still we will have some strong winds and maybe some small hail incoming.

The numbers are in for August!

We’ve been very fortunate over the past several weeks. Even with the very high to extreme fire danger across our area, we haven’t experienced many wildland fires—and we’re certainly thankful for that.

We appreciate everyone who has continued to use caution and do their part to help prevent fires during these hot, dry conditions.

Now we’re hoping Mother Nature will lend us a hand and bring some much-needed rain this week!

As always, stay safe.

🔥 VERY HIGH TO EXTREME FIRE DANGER 🔥

Fire danger across our area is currently VERY HIGH to EXTREME. Hot temperatures, dry vegetation, and ongoing dry conditions mean that even a small spark can quickly become a fast-moving wildfire. We are still under a burn ban!
