This month, the Jones County Health Department is raising awareness about the importance of breast health, early detection, and regular screenings.

💗 Through our BCCCP (Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program) and WISEWOMAN Program, we help eligible women access important health screenings, education, and services designed to support their overall health and well-being.

Early detection can make a difference. Don’t put off your health—talk with your healthcare provider and learn what screenings are right for you.

September is National Food Safety Education Month, a time to raise awareness about the simple steps we can all take to prevent foodborne illness and keep our communities safe. The FDA highlights four basic food safety practices: Clean, Separate, Cook, and Chill.

But food safety doesn't stop in our kitchens—it’s an important part of Environmental Health!

👩‍🔬 Our Environmental Health Specialists (EHS) play an essential role in protecting the public by working with food establishments, conducting inspections, providing education, and helping identify practices that can contribute to foodborne illness. Environmental health professionals are an important part of the public health workforce supporting food safety programs nationwide.

This month, we recognize the dedication of our EHS team and their commitment to protecting the health of the communities we serve. 💚
