Some of New Jersey's great local businesses are just off the beaten path. Assemblywoman Andrea Katz wants to make them easier to find. Today, the Assembly Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee advanced legislation sponsored by Assemblywoman Andrea Katz to help residents and visitors discover local wineries, breweries, distilleries, cideries, and meaderies. Her bill, A5611, would expand highway signage to include more craft beverage producers and create an interactive statewide map featuring locations, tours, and directions. It's a way to support New Jersey's small businesses, encourage tourism, and help more people explore what the Garden State has to offer.

For working parents, finding affordable, reliable child care can be a daily challenge. When child care is out of reach, it can strain a family's finances, limit a parent's ability to work, and affect a child's early development. Today, three Assembly committees — Aging and Human Services, Education, and Commerce and Economic Development — are coming together for a joint hearing on the affordability, accessibility, and stability of New Jersey's child care system. The hearing will bring together invited experts to examine the challenges facing families, child care providers, and the workforce that depends on them.

Sexual assault on college campuses is a crisis that demands more than headlines and promises of change. Students need to know they are safe, survivors need to be taken seriously, and colleges and universities must be accountable for how they respond. Today, the Assembly Higher Education Committee is taking up a package of bills addressing campus sexual assault, including measures to hold institutions accountable for mishandling allegations, strengthen campus safety, expand prevention education and consent training, improve support for survivors, and clarify protections under the law.
