Second grade helped us get the Pumpkin Patch started this year! They listened to the story of Bird trying to convince Squirrel that there wasn’t a Pumpkin Thief! They made a scarecrow magnet, then went outside to enjoy all the Pumpkin Patch activities. They had a fun-filled hour with us!

Kindergarten came to visit today. They thought the walk here was kind of hot! They listened to a story about Millie Fleur helping her community find their joy in the fall. Then they got to check out books, play with the library’s toys, and color fall pictures. They’ll go through the Pumpkin Patch on their next visit.

It’s 9/25, 9-2-5, Dolly Parton day! Her Imagination Library continues to provide free books for young children. There are many things to celebrate about Dolly. Today we are celebrating her support of literacy!

Second graders came today for a story, craft, and books. They heard and discussed a story about Amelia Bedelia learning to make an apple pie. If you’ve ever read an Amelia Bedelia story, you know she always takes everything very literally and has to learn about figures of speech. It’s a great lesson for second graders!

We had Kindergarten visitors on Wednesday! They listened to a story, made an apple core magnet craft, and checked out books. Almost all the kids now have their own library cards! Do you have one? See you at the library!
