The story of the “Gang of 14” pushed by the City of Trinidad and Downtown Development Group is a complete fabrication. They never had the vision to make a state park happen. The former Crazy Frenchman Ranch was purchased to avoid the disaster of another ill fated project.

Did you know the City of Trinidad has an Office of Outdoor Recreation? It would be great if they actually made some positive impacts on the local economy seeing how cannabis tax revenues have plunged. Does the Director of that office actually have a plan moving forward? The individual has been in the position for over 2 years and has yet to present an idea or inform the public what the future looks like for Trinidad in regards to recreation and tourism.

The City of Trinidad Forum led by Mayor Rico last Tues June 28th was pathetic. Nothing of substance offered. No discussion around the declining cannabis related revenue, tourism, recreation, housing, or infrastructure. Trinidad Chronicle News article s a fluff piece. Mayor, there was a lower than expected turnout because nobody wants to hear your weak explanations. One year left, and then this community can move on from your six year run of empty talk.
