The Las Animas County Search and Rescue team conducted training today with the “Snow Cat” that the Las Animas County Sheriffs Office acquired thru the 1033 Program. Team members learned basic operations of this machine in the classroom and then learned how to drive the Snow Cat in a field exercise.

This equipment will be used for rescue missions requiring the use of a Snow Cat.

Anyone interested in joining the Las Animas County Sheriffs Office Search and Rescue team can request an application by sending an email to [email protected] or can download an application at http://lasosheriff.org/forms.php select “Search and Rescue Application”.
