🍎 WELCOME BACK TO WMMS, MISS KAYLA! ✏

We are thrilled to welcome Miss Kayla back home to WMMS! Many of our Rebel families will remember her from her time here as our EL teacher, and we are so excited to have her returning to our team as our School Counselor!

Miss Kayla loves building relationships with students, helping them find their strengths, and making school a place where everyone feels like they belong.

Outside of school, her family spends most of their time at a ballgame! When they aren't cheering from the sidelines, they love traveling and watching more football on the weekends. She is a big fan of making memories and finding new adventures.

She says she is so excited to be back with her Rebel family! 🖤

It really is always a great day to be a Rebel! 🖤

At West Morgan Middle School, our halls are filled with curiosity, growth, and an unshakable sense of community. Every single day, our students show up ready to learn, encourage one another, and shine—whether they are diving into a great book in the library, engaging with interactive technology in the classroom, or collaborating on new projects with their peers.

We could not be prouder of the incredible young people who walk through our doors. They embody what it truly means to be a Rebel: dedicated, hardworking, resilient, and full of heart. Watching their enthusiasm and seeing the effort they put into everything they do is a daily reminder of just how special our school is.

To our students, teachers, staff, and families—thank you for making West Morgan Middle School a place where excellence happens in every single moment. We wear our colors with pride, stand together as a family, and remain forever proud to be Rebels! 🫶🖤🥰

💗🎀 PINK OUT DRESS-UP DAY! 🎀💗

Today, we wore PINK in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month! 💕🌸 We proudly wore our pink to help spread awareness, show support, and stand together in the fight against breast cancer.

This day is especially meaningful because we have one of our very own, Mrs. Turney, whom we are lifting up and showing extra love and support! 💗

Once a Rebel, always a Rebel! 💗

⚡️🔋 Mrs. Jones’ Class is making science come to life! 🧪💡 Students experimented with closed and open circuits. They used light bulbs, batteries, and wire to explore different ways to make a closed circuit. Hands-on learning makes science even more exciting! We love seeing our little scientists explore, experiment, and discover! 🔌✨

🖤🔦 A little suspense in Ms. Owens’ ELA class! 🕯️📖

This week, students explored Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Tell-Tale Heart” by reading in the dark with flashlights! By dimming the lights, we brought Poe’s eerie, suspenseful tale to life and experienced the chilling atmosphere firsthand. 👀🖤

By examining the eerie atmosphere (setting, tone, and suspense) and intense mood (suspense, fear, and anxiety), students learn how authors use descriptive language to build emotional impact, deepen character analysis, and enhance critical reading skills.
