Lansingburgh's Unified Bocce team went undefeated this season after winning the Section 2 Unified Bocce Championship Tournament last Friday at The Italian American Community Center (I.A.C.C.)! These ‘Burgh Knights brought their absolute A-game to finish out the season strong, winning 4 tournament matches!

BIG shout-out and job well done to these student-athletes and to Coaches Merrill & Burkhart on an incredible season! If you haven't yet, be sure to congratulate them!

Turnpike Elementary classes got a special visit from Archer the golden retriever! Archer belongs to Turnpike staff member Ms. Laughlin, and he's a recently certified therapy dog. Archer wears a bandana that says "Spread Smiles" on it, and he did just that in the classrooms he visited!

Students loved meeting him and watching him respond to special commands he knows, like keeping a treat on his snout until he's told he can eat it. In turn, Archer enjoyed the many pets from students and even got his own Lansingburgh ID badge!

Mr. Roman and Ms. Johnson's 5th-grade classes hiked to Oakwood Cemetery to see some local history and nature. After hiking past Devil's Kitchen Waterfall into the cemetery, they visited several historical gravesites, including Uncle Sam, Russell Sage and the Gardner Earl Memorial Chapel. From the cemetery overlook, students also saw some beautiful views of the fall leaves and the surrounding area.
