As the crops come off the fields and the leaves leave the trees, it allows for things perhaps unnoticed before to be seen. On this Halloween day and into the continuing fall, and all seasons actually, perhaps take a moment to see the pride, legacy and beauty farms, barns and all of agriculture hold.

Just under the wire! It was a perfect afternoon to conduct the final ODNR Stream Quality Monitoring for the year. The Stillwater River was showing off and I was there for it! The two sections I sampled did pretty well; one scored a high GOOD and the other an EXCELLENT!

Happy World Sustainability Day! Here's to raising global awareness about environmental protection, resource conservation, and building balanced systems that support both people and the planet!
What You Can Do:
Conserve Resources: Reduce energy usage, turn off taps when not in use, and properly dispose of hazardous material
Minimize Waste: Switch to reusable items, recycle diligently, and practice composting at home or work.
Support Local Systems: Participate in community gardens, shop from local farmers, or back sustainable social enterprises

We want to make sure you’re aware that 2026 ARCPLC enrollment is now open.
The 2026 ARCPLC signup deadline is December 11, 2026. This year, you’ll need to elect which program best fits your operation: ARC-County, PLC or ARC-Individual. Once you’ve made your election, you’ll need to sign your contracts.
Because we know how busy harvest can be, please contact the office to let us know your election and to set up a time to pick up your contracts. This will ensure you have plenty of time to gather landowner signatures before the December 11th deadline.
Also make sure if you have planted wheat or any other fall seeded small grains to get those reported to our office before December 15, 2026.

TEMPORARY OFFICE HELP NEEDED
FSA is looking for temporary office assistance. On our team you will work directly with local farmers and landowners and be responsible for office activities and functions pertaining to FSA programs. Position would be 3 to 4 days a week.
Resumes can be submitted to the Miami County office at:
1330 North County Road 25A, Suite B
Troy, Ohio 45373
Or by email to [email protected]
