This month's Police Explorers Meeting was fun and extremely educational for our Explorer’s. They were able to do MILO training courtesy of SWIC Police Academy! MILO training is a 300° screen that projects scenarios that react to what our police explorers say. This immersive training allows the Explorers to train in situations they would not be able to have otherwise; like hostage situation, traffic stops with specific circumstances, school shooter situation, and even su***de attempts. Thank you SWIC Police Academy for this meaningful meeting. Also, a big thank you to our Officer at Troy Police Deparment for making these meetings possible.

This month's Explorer meeting on Feb 10th was all about handcuffing, search, and the difference between being detained vs arrested. They also quickly ran through spike strips and how to deploy them.

Explorer’s had an absolute blast with this meeting. They ran through lots of scenarios and procedures.

We also had some Explorer’s participate in taser training for our Police Officers

On Jan 13th our Explorer’s were able to do CPR and Stop the Bleed training. A big thank you to the Troy EMS for the training!

Explorer’s were able to practice their CPR on CPR dummies and infant dummies. They were also able to see the LUCAS device in action (on dummies of course!) which is an automated CPR machine. Additionally, they learned how to discover and take care of all different kinds of wounds using things like tourniuqets, gauze, and lots of pressure.
