The event will take place in the Auditorium (1st floor) at the Albany Public Library (161 Washington Ave, Albany) on October 24 at 1PM. Doors open at 12:30PM. We'll hear from our learners and tutors who will read a narrative that they wrote. There will be door prizes and refreshments. Please let us know if you plan to attend! LVCR would like to wish a warm welcome to our new Program Coordinator, Kelly! She holds degrees in German Studies, English Literature, and Experimental Humanities from Montana State University and New York University, and is also working toward her Doctorate in English Literature at SUNY Albany. Her career has been shaped by experiences, languages, and literatures from around the world, and she strives to foster caring and creative connections wherever she goes. Whether it’s finding ways to serve LVCR’s communities, building cutting edge classes, or picking up yet another niche hobby (go karting, chocolatiering, horology, skydiving, knitting, shark watching…), she’s always up for something new. She’s thrilled to be a part of LVCR’s upcoming adventures!

This week is National Adult Education and Family Literacy Week! At LVCR, we help adults build the reading, writing, English language, and other skills they need to reach their goals and feel more confident in their everyday lives.

Every learner has a story. Every new skill opens a door. And every volunteer tutor can make a difference.

LVCR attended a community roundtable at this past week! We got to meet other community organizations, speak about our programs, and talk to students about how they can get involved in their community. What a great way to start the school year!
