📫💙A BIG thank-you to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Ohio for helping deliver books to children's mailboxes across Miami County!

This month, they covered $11,021.27 in October program costs and will continue to cover half of those costs each month through the year.

We are grateful for their continued partnership and commitment to early literacy, helping children across Miami County build a love of reading, one book at a time! 📚

We appreciate the support from the City of Piqua and its community! More than 1,100 Piqua children currently receive books each month by mail to their homes through Imagination Library.

At its meeting Tuesday, Piqua City Commission recognized September 25, 2026, as Dolly Parton Day.

Mayor Jim Vetter read a proclamation, acknowledging the musician and philanthropist’s contribution to communities nationwide by launching the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program.

Troy-Miami County Public Library has offered the program since 2014 and now mails more than 1,100 books to the children of Piqua each month. Representatives from the library attended the meeting to receive the proclamation.

September 25 honors Dolly Parton’s legacy while also recognizing her connection to the iconic 1980 film and song “9 to 5.”
