Everyone in the community plays an important role, and a community is needed to raise a child in a safe and healthy environment. Build the village, be the village, and sustain the village! Be the one to make a positive difference in the lives of children in our community!

The Town of Truckee officially proclaims April 2025 as Child Abuse Prevention Month, a time to raise awareness and take action to protect children from abuse and neglect.

Here, Truckee Mayor Jan Zabriskie presents the Town's Proclamation to Beatriz Schaffert, Coordinator of the Tahoe Truckee Child Abuse Prevention Council.

The Town of Truckee officially proclaims April 2025 as Child Abuse Prevention Month, a time to raise awareness and take action to protect children from abuse and neglect.

Communities 4 Kids is the primary planning and coordination group for child abuse prevention activities in the North Tahoe-Truckee community. The council and community partners meet twice a month to ensure that accessible, effective resources and programs exist for children and families in our community.

Nevada County Public health is hosting a free event for expecting families. Many local organization who serve expecting families and families with young children will be there to provide information, demonstrations, and giveaways! The event is free!
