Donner Summit-Truckee Golden Spike Celebration

We're still ringing the bell here in Truckee. Visit the Museum of Truckee History, Thursday-Monday mid-day.

I've been working on the railroad display all the livelong day, at the new Museum of Truckee History in the Truckee train depot. Let's hope we can share it with you all this summer.

150 years later, not much change.

We have a late entry, last night there was a Golden Spike Inspired Fashion Show. Fashions of the 1840's - 1900 were explained by collector Cherie Oliver. Well done, thank you. Choo-choo, ding-ding!

It was a beautiful year for the Donner Party Hikes. Start out with a 3 to 4 hour guided hike, make it back for music, lunch and a talk before your free to enjoy the 2nd half of the day.

Do you miss the passport stops and posters? No worries, you can find the posters for each stop on the Donner Summit Historical Society website. Go see what you can find.

Ended this summer long event on a perfect day! The Truckee-Donner Transcontinental Railroad Sesquicentennial Celebration BBQ was a great time. Thank you all for turning out to celebrate with us.
