Trumbull Fire would like to extend our condolences to the Reed family and of course the Middlefield Fire family.

Chief Reed was the type of leader everyone should strive to be like. His commitment to all the men and women that served under him or beside him was something genuine. After 40 years of dedication to Middlefield, his legacy will live on forever through the current and past members.

RIP Chief Reed

There are Leaders, Heroes, and Legends, Chief Reed was all three. We were lucky enough to Celebrate his retirement and unbelievable devotion to the Middlefield Fire Department for nearly 40 years just last week.

Today we mourn his loss. We are forever grateful for what Chief Reed represents! He was a proud and faithful leader who cared so deeply for the Men and Women of The Middlefield Fire Department and the people of his community. A proud U.S. Navy Veteran, and a prouder Father, Grandfather and Chief.

Chief Reed, your legacy will live on forever. We will take it from here boss!

The members of Trumbull Township Fire & Rescue would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the residents of Trumbull Township for your continued support of our department and for supporting the Fire Levy passed in May 2025.

Your support has allowed our department to make much-needed investments in our aging apparatus and equipment so that our firefighters can continue providing safe, dependable emergency services to our community.

Because of the levy, we have been able to purchase two fire engines—a 2004 Spartan and a 2006 Spartan. These engines will replace our 1987 Sutphen and 1994 Darley, giving our firefighters newer, more reliable apparatus to respond to emergencies throughout Trumbull Township and assist our neighboring communities when called upon.

We have also been fortunate to receive tremendous support from the Trumbull Township Fire & Rescue Auxiliary. Through their hard work and dedication, the Auxiliary has purchased a new thermal-imaging drone for the department.

This technology will provide our firefighters with another valuable tool during many types of emergencies, including:

• Search and rescue operations
• Wildland and brush fires
• Structural fires
• Locating heat sources and hotspots
• Improving situational awareness during emergency incidents

These improvements represent a major investment in the future of Trumbull Township Fire & Rescue, but more importantly, they represent an investment in the safety of our residents and firefighters.

We understand that this progress would not be possible without the trust and support of the people we serve. We take the responsibility of using these funds wisely and maintaining dependable emergency services very seriously.

To the residents of Trumbull Township—thank you for believing in and supporting your volunteer firefighters.

And to the Trumbull Township Fire & Rescue Auxiliary, thank you for your continued dedication, fundraising efforts, and commitment to helping provide our firefighters with the tools they need.

We are proud to serve Trumbull Township and look forward to continuing to improve our department for many years to come.

Chief Clinton Rose
