It has been an incredible privilege and an honor to serve as the Supervisor for this amazing District and on the Pima County Board of Supervisors. As my final day in this role comes to an end, I would like to thank everyone in the County and the community for all of the support that our office has received during my time on the Board. I am so proud of all of the work that we have been able to achieve over the past four years, and I know that the great work being done here in Pima County and D5 will continue. As a lifelong resident of D5, I know that once a D5'er, always a D5'er. Muchísimas gracias!

As always, the D5 Office is here to serve the community, so please feel free to reach out to [email protected] or call (520) 724-8126 with any questions or issues.

A privilege to be able to share a few words at this evening’s opening reception of the 33rd Annual Arizona International Film Festival, which this year has been dedicated to Congressman Raúl Grijalva in recognition of his decades of support for independent filmmaking and community storytelling— thank you for honoring my dad in this beautiful way! As we were reminded this evening, independent films dare to say something true. This year’s festival promises to do just that, offering 111 films from independent artists and directors from 21 different countries! 🎥 🌵

So glad to spend some time with the Barrio Hollywood Neighborhood Association for their Annual Picnic this evening— it makes such a difference to communities to have active and engaged neighbors and BHNA is one of the many great examples here in D5. Thank you for all of your advocacy and work to make where you live a better place for all residents!

This evening, D5 staff attended an inspiring and informative event, Behind BIO5: Meet the Scientists, hosted by the BIO5 Institute. It highlighted innovative research, brilliant scientists, and developing technology. We learned about prototyping technology and engineering solutions, such as 3D printing, that help researchers implement their ideas and expertise! Thank you to the University of Arizona BIO5 Institute for such a wonderful time🤩

Thank you to all of the friends and community members who came out to make my last Board of Supervisors meeting so lovely! It’s been such a privilege and honor to serve in this role and having the chance to reflect on some of the great work we’ve done in D5, alongside County staff and departments, community members, and the Board was truly special.

ICYMI: Here’s a summary of the votes taken at today’s Pima County Board of Supervisors Meeting! ✔️

04/01/2025

Today, the Board of Supervisors approved the purchase and preservation of all 108.8 acres of the historic Kelly Ranch property, adjacent to Catalina State Park, to keep as protected open space in Pima County. This action will help protect wildlife corridors, archaeological sites, and maintain the beautiful natural landscape so close to the state park. Proud to be able to continue the decades-long advocacy for this particular property and thank you to all of the supporters from the community who have worked to make this a reality! 🏜️ 🌵
