People of the Park – Meet Farrah Etcheverry, Survey Operations Lead, Darling Geomatics
As the Survey Operations Lead at Darling Geomatics, Farrah Etcheverry brings a forward-thinking approach to land surveying and geospatial projects across Arizona. A Land Surveyor-in-Training (LSIT) with a Bachelor of Science in Surveying and Mapping from East Tennessee State University, Farrah blends hands-on field experience with cutting-edge technology to deliver accurate and innovative solutions. She is passionate about advancing and modernizing the surveying profession, integrating new tools and techniques that push the field forward.
Fun fact: Farrah is a licensed commercial drone pilot and enjoys using drone technology for aerial mapping and surveying applications—bringing a whole new perspective to her work above and beyond the ground.

Fred Boice’s legacy of leadership and vision leaves a lasting imprint in our community.
Fred’s decades of service across the Arizona Board of Regents, the University of Arizona Foundation, and numerous nonprofit and civic boards reflected his unwavering belief in the transformative impact of education, innovation, and community collaboration on advancing the prosperity of our society.
As past Chair of Campus Research Corporation, Fred provided thoughtful guidance and steadfast support to Tech Parks Arizona, helping advance our mission of university-based economic development.
His humility, integrity, and commitment to excellence strengthened the foundation upon which Tech Parks Arizona continues to grow and thrive.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Boice family and all who were touched by Fred’s life and legacy. His contributions will continue to inspire and guide us for years to come.

Tech Parks Arizona was pleased to attend The Future of USMCA: What It Means for Southern Arizona, hosted by The Chamber of Southern Arizona. The forum brought together more than 300 business and community leaders, including Governor Katie Hobbs, to explore the real-world impacts of the United States–Mexico–Canada Agreement (USMCA) on our region’s economy.
Events like this underscore Southern Arizona’s critical role as a gateway for North American trade and highlight the importance of cross-border collaboration in supporting economic resilience and long-term opportunity.

Emagine Solutions Technology Featured on KGUN9 🚀
UACI startup client Emagine Solutions Technology was recently interviewed by Alex Dowd with KGUN9 highlighting its innovative work in maternal health technology.
Founder and CEO Courtney Williams shared the inspiration behind The Journey Pregnancy App, explaining how the platform was designed to support expectant mothers with tools that improve access to information and enhance care during and after pregnancy.
The segment also included insights from Sharon Thompson, a longtime physician and advisor to Emagine, who emphasized the critical importance of addressing maternal health disparities in the United States, particularly among Black and Indigenous women.
In addition to its growing visibility, Emagine is currently recruiting participants for a research study exploring the use of wearable technology in combination with its app, aiming to further advance personalized maternal care.

Partnering with Principal Karina Paco, she got an up-close look at the energy, leadership, and heart that power a school community every day—made even more memorable by a front-row seat to talent show day.
The experience, coordinated by Teresa Hill, CEO of Tucson Values Teachers —an initiative of the Southern Arizona Leadership Council—connects business leaders with educators to strengthen support for PreK–12 schools. Tech Parks Arizona is proud to champion programs that bring our community closer together in support of students and teachers.

As the University of Arizona Center for Innovation (UACI) Client Services Coordinator, Nicole Woodruff is the behind-the-scenes connector who keeps client communication clear, organized and moving smoothly from start to finish. She’s passionate about creating seamless experiences and making sure everyone feels informed and supported every step of the way. An Arizona native who proudly roots for the Chicago Cubs, Nicole is also a self-proclaimed music junkie—she can usually name a song after hearing just one note!
