Last month, Sister José Women’s Center was honored to receive a Community Impact Grant from OneAZ Credit Union Community Foundation.
This generous support helps us continue providing essential services to women experiencing homelessness and housing instability throughout Tucson and Southern Arizona. Through this investment, women will have access to nutritious meals, safe shelter, hygiene resources, case navigation, and compassionate care in a welcoming environment.
We are deeply grateful to OneAZ Credit Union Community Foundation for believing in our mission and investing in the women we serve. Partnerships like this help ensure that every woman who comes to Sister José is met with dignity, respect, and opportunities for greater stability and hope.

Today we are sending a heartfelt thank you to TUS2 Amazon Employees and their partners Clean the World for their generous donation of hygiene kits and additional hygiene supplies for the women we serve. The wonderful kits included shampoo, bar soap, a loofa, toothpaste, a toothbrush, comb and a pair of Bombas socks.
These essential items help provide dignity, comfort, and care to women experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity. Something as simple as access to personal hygiene products can make a tremendous difference in a woman's health, confidence, and sense of wellbeing.
As the need for our services continues to grow, support from community partners like TUS2 Amazon Employees and Clean the World helps ensure we can continue meeting women where they are with compassion and respect.
Thank you for investing in the women of our community and helping us provide hope, dignity, and care every day. 🩷

Today, we gathered together as a community to honor and celebrate the lives of several of the women we have lost over the past few months, while also remembering our beloved founding chaplain, Monsignor Tom Cahalane. 🩷
At Sister José Women’s Center, every woman who walks through our doors matters deeply to us. They are more than guests, they are part of our family, and their absence is felt by our staff, volunteers, and fellow guests alike.
Monsignor Tom’s loss is also one that continues to be felt deeply throughout our community, as his compassion, faith, and unwavering belief in the dignity of every woman helped shape the heart of Sister José from the very beginning.
Father Miguel officiated a beautiful and meaningful ceremony, offering prayers, and comfort as we remembered those we have lost. Guests were also given the opportunity to share memories, stories, and words about the women who touched their lives, creating a space filled with love, grief, and healing.
Our founder, Jean Fedigan, also joined us and shared heartfelt words about one of the women we lost, who had been a guest at Sister José Women’s Center since we first opened the doors at our current location. Her reflections were a powerful reminder of the deep relationships formed within our community and the lasting impact each woman has on all of us.
While many of the women we serve have experienced unimaginable hardship, they each carried a unique story, spirit, and dignity that deserved to be seen and remembered. We are grateful we could come together to honor their lives, remember Monsignor Tom’s lasting legacy, and hold space for one another in community.
May they all rest in peace, and may we continue to carry their memories with compassion and love.

💗 Thankful Thursday 💗
Today, we are sending our heartfelt thanks to the incredible Tucson Rundezvous Indian Motorcycle Riders Group and their members for their compassion, generosity, and continued support of Sister José Women’s Center.
This amazing group recently hosted their annual rally and organized a donation drive to help support the women we serve at Sister José Women’s Center.
In addition, after the heartbreaking loss of one of their members, his family graciously chose to sell his motorcycle and donate the proceeds in his honor to Sister José Women’s Center. A few days later, they returned to personally deliver the donation and continued to show what true community support looks like.
Their generosity, compassion, and kindness mean more than words can express, and we are forever grateful for the support of this incredible group.
Their kindness is a beautiful reminder of how community, compassion, and generosity can create lasting impact. We are deeply honored to be part of this legacy of giving and will carry their support with gratitude in our hearts.
Thank you for standing beside women experiencing homelessness and helping provide safety, dignity, and hope every single day. 🩷🏍️

Yesterday, we had the absolute joy of celebrating our incredible volunteers at our Volunteer Appreciation Celebration 💗
From the kitchen to the welcome table, the reception desk to the laundry room, Supper Club to the clothing closet—our volunteers show up in so many meaningful ways to support the women we serve each day.
Because of you, Sister José Women’s Center is more than just a place, it’s a community of care, dignity, and hope. You create a space where women can rest, feel safe, and begin rebuilding their lives.
It was so special to come together, share stories, laugh, and recognize just a few of the many amazing individuals who give their time and heart to this work.
A huge shoutout to the City of Tucson Small Business Center for hosting us, the space was beautiful, and we were so grateful to celebrate in such a welcoming environment.
To each and every one of you—thank you. We truly could not do this without you. 💕

Today, we gathered in love to celebrate the life of our founding chaplain, Monsignor Tom Cahalane.
Monsignor Tom was a guiding light for Sister José Women’s Center from the very beginning. His deep faith and compassion shaped who we are today, and his belief in the dignity and worth of every woman continues to live on in our work.
During our recent expansion celebration, we were honored to recognize him alongside our founder—a reminder of the strong foundation they built together, rooted in love, service, and unwavering commitment to others.
We are so grateful for his presence in our lives and in this community. His legacy will continue to guide us every day.
May he rest in peace. 🤍
