Our Story
St. Francis Men's cooling and warming center was the project of Franciscan Ministries. Since 2015, it has been hosted by Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Tucson, AZ. We currently have a winter program. In the winter we offer a meal and an overnight rest, opening at 8:00pm until 6:00am.
St. Francis Shelter is low-demand, which means that we welcome you as you are. All we ask of our guests is that they stay respectful of the space, our neighbors, shelter hosts, and your fellow guests. We are able to host fifty or more men, seven days per week, and that includes a nice dinner. We do allow pets.
We thank you for your generous support to keep the shelter running year after year.
With no dedicated funding source, we do humbly rely on our friends and partners in the community to continue to provide this essential service during cold winter months of the Sonoran desert. If you are able to donate, please know that every dollar is used to facilitate the needs of our guests. We are all volunteers and there are no salaries. Every little bit goes a long way.
