- crews conducting firing operations today to burn off two large interior islands of remaining fuel. Smoke will be visible on the west side of Soto Peak. Work is expected to last throughout the day. The fire is 1,046 acres and 50% contained currently. It is located northwest of Green Valley in Pima County.
