🚧TRAFFIC ALERT - AVIATION PKWY CLOSURE!
Beginning this Friday, October 2, around 8pm, Aviation will undergo a FULL (24/7) closure from Broadway to Golf Links. Crews will be installing concrete barriers and removing sign structures on Aviation. A full closure was warranted to protect crews and the traveling public during this work. The closure is scheduled to be removed by 5am Monday, October 5. Please see detour map for alternate routes.

Hey, Tucson! Valencia Road from Kolb Road to Houghton Road will be complete at the end of September. Remember to follow the posted speed limit signs and watch for people walking or biking on the multi-use path.

The Valencia Road Improvement Project began in November 2024, and is part of the original voter-approved $2.1 billion Regional Transportation Authority plan.

Last week, residents from several Tucson neighborhoods met with DTM staff to learn more about upcoming repaving, bicycle boulevard, and safety projects made possible by voter-approved Propositions 411, 407, and 101. These investments are helping shape safer, more connected Tucson neighborhoods.

Prop 411: Neighborhood street and ADA ramp repairs.

Prop 407: Pedestrian and bicycle connections and parks, including connected pathways, parks, playgrounds, pools, sports facilities, and recreation centers.

Prop 101: Road safety improvements and public safety infrastructure, including improvements to arterial streets as well as upgrades to fire stations and equipment.

🚧TRAFFIC ALERT: Beginning Monday, September 28, through Friday, October 2, crews will begin laying the final pavement across all lanes on Irvington Rd from Sierra to Pantano Rd. Traffic control will consist of barricades, flaggers and a pilot car. Work will take place from about 7am to 5pm. Striping will take place Oct 7 & 8. Please use caution when driving through the area.

Help shape the Arroyo Chico Greenway! 🚲

The City of Tucson Department of Transportation & Mobility is hosting two public meetings in October to share updates on the upcoming Arroyo Chico Greenway expansion.

📅 Thursday, Oct. 1 | 5:30–7:30 p.m.
📍 Robison Elementary School, 2745 E. 18th St.
🌯 Free burritos + bike repair

📅 Saturday, Oct. 3 | 8–10 a.m.
📍 E 12th Street & S Santa Rita Avenue
🥯 Free bagels + bike repair

The project will create a continuous 3-mile low-stress greenway connecting Reid Park to downtown Tucson, closing gaps between existing walking and biking paths.

Community members can learn more, ask questions and provide feedback as design moves forward.

Help us give a HUGE shout out to our Streets Division who worked tirelessly to safely remove this tree after the storm knocked it over into a resident’s backyard. During Monsoon, they are on-call 24/7 to keep the traveling public safe. Please call 3-1-1 to report any storm related damage.
