In celebration of LGBTQ+ Elders Day, The Hacienda at The River hosted a joyful and unforgettable drag brunch filled with connection, creativity, and community spirit. Residents were treated to standout performances from Lucinda Holliday, Vera Del Mar, and Lady Ashley, who brought incredible talent to the stage while also sharing personal stories about their journeys in drag and meaningful connections to senior living.
One especially heartwarming moment reminded us how small the world can be, as one of our assisted living residents and Lady Ashley discovered a long-standing personal friendship.
We are grateful to Lucinda, Vera, and Lady Ashley for sharing their artistry and helping create such a meaningful experience for our community.
We are also proud to highlight our partnership with SAGE, the nation’s oldest and largest nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of LGBTQ+ older adults and their caregivers. Since 1978, SAGE has led the way in advocacy, resources, and supportive services that help ensure LGBTQ+ elders can age with dignity, connection, and respect.

“Less is sometimes more.” 💪
Meet Michele Landreville, Community Life and Wellness Director at The Hacienda at The River. For Michele, wellness goes beyond fitness—it’s about helping residents find purpose, joy, and meaningful connections every day.
Recently featured in McKnight's Senior Living, Michele shared her inspiring journey into senior living and how her dual role brings energy, compassion, and creativity to our community. By leading both community life and fitness, Michele creates a special bond between engagement and well-being that sets The Hacienda apart.
As Michele says, “Normally, fitness and community life are separate venues, so most Community Life Directors don’t get this chance. My dual role here has made that unique connection possible.”
We’re proud to celebrate Michele and the positive impact she makes on residents, families, and associates.

Honoring a lifetime of service and dedication 🇺🇸
At East Village Place, residents and associates recently came together to celebrate Al, a founding member of American Legion Post 353, for an incredible 70 years of membership and service. During a special Veterans social, Al was recognized by fellow members and presented with a certificate in appreciation of his long standing commitment.
The celebration was made even more meaningful with a live rendition of the national anthem and the presence of those who have served alongside him over the years. In addition to his time with the Legion, Al has remained deeply involved as a volunteer at the veterans’ cemetery in Agawam.
Moments like these are a powerful reminder of the stories, sacrifices, and contributions that shape our communities. We are honored to celebrate residents like Al and the legacy they continue to share.

There’s something special about bringing a lifelong wish to life.
At The Watermark at Vistawilla Judy recently checked off a meaningful item from her bucket list. She had always hoped to watch a professional artist create something right before her eyes, and that moment came to life with the help of muralist Donna Smith.
As a beautiful beach scene took shape, it brought back memories of time Judy spent by the ocean with her family as a young girl. A simple wish turned into a moment of reflection, connection, and joy.
