Tucson DSA is proud to announce that our chapter has endorsed Miranda Lopez for Arizona State House, Legislative District 21.

Miranda is a chapter member and a labor organizer with United Campus Workers (CWA Local 7065). She is also the former Executive Director for the Pima County Democratic Party and former Southern Regional Director for the Arizona Students' Association. As a working-class organizer, she has faced summers without AC when her landlord didn’t make repairs and has lived paycheck-to-paycheck while navigating an uncertain job market. Nonetheless, she has continued to organize because she believes that a better world is possible. You can read more about Miranda's campaign on her site, LopezforArizona.com.

Our goal is to knock 2,500 doors for Miranda before June 24, the day when early ballots are released. DSA-led canvasses will be announced soon, but if you want to get started right away, you can join Miranda herself any Saturday morning .

Tax Day doesn't have to be miserable - come spend it with Tucson DSA! April 15 at 6 p.m., join us at Tucson Hop Shop for a laid-back happy hour-ish social. We can unwind, connect, and talk about what should be happening with our tax dollars. While politicians cut benefits and hand billions to the ultra-wealthy, we're building something different at Tucson DSA (together).

No program or pressure, just good drinks and good people. Whether you're brand new or already involved, this is an easy way to plug in, meet folks, and spend Tax Day in better company. Bring a friend. See you there. RSVP at the link in our bio.
