Welcome to the Tucson Airport Authority Fire Department page. The department protects more than 200 buildings spread across 10,000 acres.

The Tucson Airport Authority Fire Department works around the clock to ensure safety at Tucson International Airport and Ryan Airfield. Our skills, training, and equipment are state-of-the-art, but our mission is simple: to provide quick response to aircraft-related emergencies.

EMS Day at TAAFD!

Dr. Beskind and South Campus residents from Banner Health took part in EMS Day with the Tucson Airport Authority Fire Department (TAAFD). From hands-on training to engaging with first responders, it was a great opportunity to learn, connect, and offer insights into the vital work of emergency medical services.

The Tucson Airport Fire Department recently partnered with Swissport, one of our fueling service partners, for a fire suppression training exercise. The training focused on fuel loads, extinguishing agents, and fire suppression techniques.

We also introduced our new digital fire extinguisher training system, which allows us to teach safe and effective extinguisher use in a controlled environment.

Joint training like this strengthens our coordination on the airfield and ensures we are ready to respond quickly and effectively when needed.
