💦 SPLASH BASH! 💦

DHFD had an awesome time at Splash Bash on Saturday at Cielo Park! What a great way to cool off, connect with the community, and enjoy a fun-filled day.

We loved meeting so many families and helping everyone beat the heat. 🚒☀️💧

Drexel Heights Fire District and the Tohono O’odham Fire Department units responded to an apartment fire in the 6400 Block of South Camino De La Tierra. 911 calls came in around 5:15 PM reporting smoke coming from the patio area of an apartment, with smoke detectors sounding. Upon arrival, crews found an apartment charged with smoke and a bathroom that was on fire. No residents were home at the time. Crews were able to bring the fire under control within seven minutes. A family of four was displaced due to smoke damage. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

On the 15th, members from the Drexel Heights Fire District had another awesome visit to Banks Elementary School, this time with the preschoolers! We had a blast teaching fire safety to the kiddos.

Last night, after 11 grueling months of hard work, dedication, and perseverance, Michael Francis crossed the finish line alongside 30 of his classmates. What an incredible accomplishment to witness!

Yesterday, members from Drexel Heights and Pascua Pueblo Fire had the amazing opportunity to participate in the Tucson Estates Memorial Day Parade. It was an incredible way to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

Thank you to Tucson Estates for allowing us to be part of such a meaningful event.

Last week, Samantha successfully graduated from the Pima Community College EMT Program. She is now, State and Nationally Certified and received Valedictorian honors.

Having this level of medical training and knowledge is an invaluable asset for our telecommunicators and the communities we serve.
