It’s Fire Prevention Week! This year’s theme, “Safe Charging Is a Superpower,” highlights simple charging habits that can help reduce the risk of lithium-ion battery fires and keep our homes and communities safer.

Today’s tip: Check your chargers and cords for breaks and defects, especially if they are after-market and did not come with your device. Always use the cord and charger that came with your device or one approved by the manufacturer. Check them before you charge!

Plug in. Power up. Stay safe. Safe Charging Is a Superpower!

📢🚩Road Closure - Traffic Routing Notice!!!📢🚩
PARKWAY ROAD BETWEEN RILEY CREEK RD. AND OVOCA LAKE RD.
Beginning Monday, September 21st, Tullahoma Public Works will be replacing a culvert between 346 and 371 Parkway Rd. that will require a road closure. Here's what you need to know:

If you live north of the closure (towards Ovoca Lake Rd.), you will not be able to pass through Parkway Rd. and will need to reroute in either direction on Ovoca Lake. If you drive down to the closure, you will have to do a u-turn to go back to Ovoca Lake.

If you live south of the closure (towards Riley Creek Rd.), you will not be able to pass through on Parkway Rd. However, a re-route can be traveled down Virginia Dr., but that will still take you back to Riley Creek Rd. The best plan is to re-route to Riley Creek and save yourself the trouble.

People who live on Parkway Rd. (local traffic) can still get in and out to their addresses, but be mindful of where you are in relation to the closure to know if you need to exit on Riley Creek or to Ovoca Lake.

This closure is expected to begin Monday, 9/21 and be finished by EOD on Tuesday, 9/22, weather-permitting. Start planning now for your commute early next week if this closure affects your route. If there are any delays or unforeseen problems, we will post again with updates. Drive safely and be aware of your surroundings during this culvert improvement. Be safe, Tullahoma!

Recent rains are helping the grass to flourish while making it difficult to schedule mowing. We understand this and are working with property owners to allow for extended timelines to come into compliance.

We urge you to address your yard as quickly as possible and assist a neighbor with theirs if necessary. Maintaining your grass height helps to eliminate unwanted insects, rodents, snakes and other wildlife which can be detrimental to your property and health.

Tullahoma Municipal Code 13-105(1):
Weeds and other vegetation. It shall be unlawful for any person or other entity owning, leasing, occupying or having control of property in the city, regardless of whether the property is vacant or contains any form of structure, to permit the growth upon such property of weeds, grass, brush and all other rank or noxious vegetation to a height greater than twelve (12) inches when such growth is within two hundred (200) feet of other improved and/or occupied property or is within two hundred (200) feet of the right of way of any street, thoroughfare, or highway, within the city.
