We have gotten several senior dogs in the last month. We are going to try to showcase the new ones in hopes of finding them fosters or homes. Some are still in the process of receiving their vetting, but if we could find Foster home for some of these seniors that would be amazing.
We are going to start with Rufus. Rufus’s dad passed away leaving 16 year-old Rufus with no one to take him in. His nails were so overgrown that they were into his paw pads. We have cut them back, but he will still need gradual cutting to get them back to where they should be without cutting the quick.
Even though this little old man is 16 years old, he still has that Heeler s***k. He LOVES stuffed animals, and he will even play fetch. He appears to be potty trained. He enjoys going for walks on a leash and he even will make you jog for a little bit with him.
Rufus is neutered. We have updated his Distemper-Parvo (DAPP), and Bordetella vaccines, but still need to get his rabies and have him microchipped. We may be able to get that done for him today. He does have a benign growth on his tummy, but we aren’t going to put him under anesthesia for cosmetic reasons.
We are looking for someone who would like to give him a comfortable foster home or someone who is looking to Foster to Adopt. If you take him home, you’re going to love him though!
