Confused about how to recycle pizza boxes? We’re here to help!

While the cardboard is recyclable, leftover food residue, liners and small plastic dividers contaminate the recycling stream. To recycle empty pizza boxes properly, make sure they are empty before placing them in the blue cart. If they can’t be recycled, dispose of them in the gray trash cart.

Join our Stormwater Quality team at the Butterflies, Birds & Bees workshop to learn more about Crow Creek, one of Tulsa's most visible and central watersheds. We’ll discuss many ways to make a difference in your community, from fostering nature-friendly yards ​​to creating your own pollinator patch!

The workshop is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Feb. 25 at the Schusterman-Benson Library. This event is free, but be sure to email [email protected] to register by Feb. 21!

Do you know? Central Stoneroller is the largest fish population found in our city’s creeks and streams. We counted 3,726 of these small brown minnows in our streams last year!

These fish can live in highly polluted bodies of water and primarily eat algae, so they are not the best indicator of water quality. However, they are necessary to help improve water conditions in their habitats.
