“When I first came to Catholic Charities, I was scared, pregnant, newly sober, and carrying a lot of pain from my past. I learned to let people in, to trust that not everyone was out to get me, and to believe that I was stronger than I thought. Catholic Charities helped me become the mother I always wanted to be and gave me the chance to build a life with my daughters.”

When Denise came to Catholic Charities, she was pregnant, newly sober, and determined to rebuild her life after years of addiction, loss, and hardship. Through our Transitional Living programs, Denise found a safe place to heal, support through unimaginable grief, and the tools to rebuild relationships with her daughters, Apryl and Mya. Today, Denise is celebrating two years of sobriety, has completed probation, has her own apartment, and has regained custody of her daughters. Talk about a tee-riffic way to spend fall break! ⛳🌻

On Monday, an amazing group of volunteers from First Tee Tulsa traded their golf clubs for gardening gloves and spent their morning giving back! Working alongside Anita, our Garden Coordinator, they helped keep our Catholic Charities campus looking beautiful.

Volunteers help us create a welcoming, peaceful, and dignified environment for the thousands of neighbors who come to Catholic Charities seeking help and hope. Every hour they give allows us to devote more resources to caring for those in need.

🇺🇸 A full-circle moment worth celebrating!

For years, Liliana, our Immigration Office Manager, has helped individuals and families navigate their journeys toward a new life in the United States.

Today, she reached an incredible milestone of her own: becoming a United States citizen!

Surrounded by family, friends, and colleagues, Liliana became the first U.S. citizen in her family, marking a moment of tremendous pride and joy.

We’re so proud of Liliana and grateful for the compassion and dedication she brings to those we serve every day.

Last week was one for the books! Our very own Captain Compassion zipped over to Catholic School to say hello to some pretty awesome students! In addition to plenty of high-fives, students also received a coloring page that challenges them to identify ways they show compassion to their neighbors.

Leonard “Doc” Sohn has spent much of his life serving others, including his years in the military. But when serious dental problems left him in pain, asking for help wasn't easy. Doc drove to Catholic Charities several times before finding the courage to walk through our doors, believing someone else needed help more than he did. At our Dental Care Clinic, Dr. Jennifer Cook and her team gave Doc more than a new set of dentures and a smile—they showed him compassion, dignity, and kindness. So grateful for his care, Doc even offered to scrub floors to give back! His experience taught him a powerful lesson: “The hardest thing for me was to learn how to ask for help. Learn how to give myself grace.”
