DISTRICT 1: BEFORE WE MAKE A CHANGE, LET’S ASK THE RIGHT QUESTIONS!
Why is an outside organization spending money on television advertisements and direct mail criticizing District 1 Councilwoman Vanessa Hall-Harper? These ads contain misleading claims.
DISTRICT 1 IS ALREADY IN THE MINORITY. LET’S DO THE MATH!
The Tulsa City Council has nine members: two Democrats, one Independent, and six Republicans. Six members constitute the majority.
Why replace an experienced councilwoman with a challenger who would also serve as a minority member? Consider the data center vote: The proposal passed 9–0, according to the vote being discussed. Why single out Vanessa Hall-Harper when every councilor voted in favor? Even a no vote from her would not have changed the unanimous outcome.
So what would Dr. Wilson do differently, and how would her vote have changed the result when all nine councilors supported the proposal?
District 1 deserves answers based on each candidate’s record, proposals, and ability to work within a council where six members form the majority. Fresh ideas matter, but results also require experience, relationships, knowledge of city government, and a concrete strategy for building support.
BEFORE DISTRICT 1 MAKES A CHANGE, LET’S ASK FOR A PLAN—NOT JUST A PROMISE.
Our community deserves to know not only what a candidate wants to accomplish, but how that candidate intends to get it done.
