Our office was proud to host Memorial High School senior, Averee Chippis, to shadow Assistant District Attorney, Andrea Lartigue, as Averee prepares to study Criminal Justice at the University of North Alabama. Read about her experience below:

"My job shadowing experience with Assistant District Attorney Andrea was truly an incredible opportunity, and I am so grateful to have had the chance to learn from her. From the moment I started, I was fascinated by the amount of work, detail, and dedication that goes into every case. I loved learning all the facts behind each case and seeing firsthand how the legal system works. One of my favorite parts was sitting in the courtroom and observing everything in action and meeting Judge Homes.

Andrea was an amazing attorney throughout my experience. She was always willing to explain things in a way that I could understand and patiently answered every question I had. Her passion for her work and her ability to teach made this experience even more meaningful. This opportunity not only taught me so much about the legal field, but it also inspired me and strengthened my interest in pursuing a career in law. I will always be thankful for the time Andrea spent with me and for giving me such a memorable and impactful experience. Andrea is a great attorney, and has so much knowledge. She answered all of my questions and taught me so many things. I aspire to be as impactful to others as Andrea was to me. I am grateful for everything she taught me during this experience."

This morning, the Tulsa Fire Department joined Tulsa City Councilor Christian Bengel, the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office, and the District Attorney’s Office for our weekly community safety show on Que Buena Tulsa.

Today’s discussion focused on recent violence in our community, summer water safety, and the importance of staying involved in your children’s lives to help guide positive decisions and prevent situations that can impact the community.

We are grateful for the opportunity to connect with residents each week and appreciate everyone who calls, emails, and participates in these important conversations. Working together helps build a safer, stronger Tulsa.

Statement from DA Kunzweiler following the announcement of criminal charges related to a $779,317.91 fraud scheme perpetrated against the students, families, and teachers of Tulsa Public Schools. See the article below for additional details.

“Tulsa Public Schools exists to educate children not to fund the private schemes of those entrusted to manage its resources. Instead, Tulsa students and teachers went without the improved schools and facilities that were rightfully theirs," said Kunzweiler. "The families of Tulsa deserve to know that this type of alleged conduct has consequences, and my office intends to find truth, seek justice and hold wrongdoers accountable."
